About the network
The Chittagong Hill Tracts Women Organization Network (CHTWON) is a regional women’s rights network in the Chittagong Hill Tracts. Public reporting documents CHTWON working with UNDP and other stakeholders on Indigenous women’s rights, including equality, education, employment, healthcare and participation in family and community decision-making. In 2009, CHTWON and UNDP jointly organized an International Women’s Day programme in Bandarban that called for stronger legal protection and equal rights for Indigenous women in the hill districts. TUS’s organizational resources record involvement in CHTWON in 2021, and the TUS Annual Report 2023 again lists CHTWON among the organization’s active networks, providing direct evidence of TUS’s continued network engagement.
