Bangladesh Indigenous Peoples Network on Climate Change and Biodiversity
BIPNet is a Bangladesh-wide Indigenous Peoples network working at the intersection of climate change, biodiversity, land and forest rights, and Indigenous Peoples’ participation in national and international policy processes. TUS has documented participation in the network over multiple years.
About the network
The Bangladesh Indigenous Peoples Network on Climate Change and Biodiversity (BIPNet) is a national Indigenous Peoples network in Bangladesh. The United Nations Civil Society Participation database records BIPNet as an Indigenous Peoples organization, while Maleya Foundation identifies itself as the network secretariat and describes BIPNet as a major national network of Indigenous Peoples. Independent development and UN-related sources document BIPNet’s engagement on climate policy, biodiversity, land and forest rights, REDD+ and international Indigenous Peoples processes. TUS’s own organizational resources record involvement in BIPNet in 2021, and the TUS Annual Report 2023 again lists BIPNet among TUS’s active partnerships, networks and campaign programmes. This provides direct institutional evidence of a continuing TUS–BIPNet relationship.
